Review: I am utterly disappointed and frustrated with the unacceptable refusal by Capitec to honor a legitimate funeral/life insurance claim. After months of paying premiums with the expectation that my loved ones would be cared for in the event of an emergency, I have faced nothing but delays, unnecessary bureaucracy, and lack of communication from the bank.

My family and I are going through one of the most difficult times of our lives, and instead of receiving the support we were promised, we have been met with cold indifference. The claim process has been a nightmare. Despite submitting all required documentation on time and meeting every criteria, Capitec has found ways to deny or delay the payout without providing clear or reasonable explanations.

To make matters worse, I have been constantly passed around between different departments with no clear resolution, no follow-up on my case, and no empathy for the situation. The lack of transparency and accountability is shocking. What was supposed to be a safety net in a time of grief has now become an added source of stress and emotional distress.

I have made numerous attempts to get answers, but each interaction leaves me feeling more helpless and ignored. It’s as if Capitec cares more about avoiding responsibility than honoring the promises made to their customers.

I urge anyone considering Capitec’s funeral/life insurance to reconsider. If you are looking for a provider that will actually stand by their word and offer timely, reliable support during your hardest moments, this is not the bank for you.

Capitec’s lack of customer service, compassion, and professionalism in this matter is disgraceful, and I will be seeking legal advice and exploring other options to hold them accountable. I will never trust Capitec again and strongly advise others to be cautious.
