Statement versus customer

About three weeks ago I decided to move my account to capitec bank. They offered to change all my debit orders for me. Today I needed a statement from the bank to inform businesses, like SARS for one, of my new banking details. The Paarl branch wanted to charge me R3-50 for a statement. I explained that I needed the document to become their client, which should be a good thing, and that it should be part of the switching services. The manager however insisted. I the decided to rather stay with my current bank because capitec does not value customers. I also decided to close my current account with them. Obviously the R3-50 is of more value than my business.
