settlement amount

I want to settle my personal with Capitec Bank. I requested a settlement amount but the settlement amount is higher than the outstanding balance of the loan. when I requested why the settlement is higher than that of the outstanding amount I received a mail that sounds like it says I am going to settle early I have to pay more because I am going to save in the future with interest. Isn't that like a loan shark?
