#servicewithasmile #asimplesmilemademyday

My day started off like any other normal Saturday would, I get pulled out of bed by my almost 2 year old, the mrs says she needs to go to the bank to update her details and to do a stop order, to my vehement displeasure I am up and dressed and ready to hit the mall, walk into the bank stand and wait for hours to see a consultant, only to hear that it can't be done cause we didn't bring all the documents or some garbage excuse... (No longer smiling),

Instead we arrive at the branch in pinecrest pinetown, the que was long but we were seen to swiftly by a very pleasant young lady who went by the name of Zama, she stood up from her chair stuck out her hand gave a firm yet welcoming handshake, looked me in the eyes as she greeted me with a smile, listened as I gave my name, and remembered it not just falling into the "yes sir" trap. My mind is in shock... As I come around I hear her greeting the mrs, listening to her name and asking about the baby (who is in mummy's arms) we sit down, start explaining what we need ,boom details are entered into the system, stop orders are processed, we're just about done, conversation is flowing we are having a real good chin wag, she explained in detail, dowsing any and all burning questions we had posed to her, all this while maintains the utmost professional attitude and demeanor, now to change he deatails of our address, to my disgust we (or shall I openely admit I) forgot the proof of residence at home... Oops now I can't be cross with anyone but myself... (Not my brightest moment, I'm blaming fatigue for it).

Zama informs us that she cannot by law change our details without the proof of residence, to which I fully agree and understand, thus taking us to the next morning Sunday morning, now I, as much as anybody else, don't want to be dragged around to malls and banks on a Sunday (its my lazy day) so off we go, back to the bank, not sure what to think cause it's a Sunday and I'm off to the bank... On a Sunday... Yikes! These things don't normally happen tradional and standard banking hours are monday to Friday late opening to early close, and Saturday they open for a short while...

In in my mind I'm asking myself am I really going banking on a Sunday.... It's true, walk in to see the same smiling face and warm welcome seated at her desk, this time I'm not even going to get a ticket im going straight to the smile, paperwork in order, ready to do this quickly and efficiently (as we had done yesterday), this time I'm greeted by name, so is the mrs, and baby is called by her full name, not only has this consultant shown me her passion for her job she's actually flipped remembered our names... This doesn't happen every day... Am I dreaming or did she really just ask me how my afternoon watching rugby went, this is not your average consultant, I am taken aback...

On with business we go.... Out comes the docs, just a finger print scan here and a fingerprint scan then, a little ink scribble here, printing of a quick page there, **** we're done... Not without the usual smile and happy aura, I decided to ask what I deemed a simple question, expecting a simple answer, now not so much the the shock I get an in depth full length comprehensive answer, leaving me rather speechless, (I asked what do I need to open an account, a little tongue in cheek) after giving me an answer that blew me away I actually do want to open an account I want to be part of this happiness, luckily I have my ID and proof of residence with me, in a flash the process is explained again in full, the process of how it works, the procedure of the opening is explained and I'm feeling like im royalty.

Once again a quick fingerprint scan here and a photo there and it's almost bobs your uncle. I get asked to verify the details provided are correct, to which I agree, my card gets printed and I'm officially a capitec client, it was literally that quick...

Allow me to say it again, and again, and again, (and I can say again many more times, but I won't, not just yet) to Zama Mpunguse, from Pinecrest Capitec, thank you for making our weekend, from your friendly smile and warm welcoming handshake, to the fact that you remembered all our names, what I had planned for the evening between my visits to just being an all round nice person, we as a family say thank you, thank you, thank you (I can go on, but I wont, I'm sure you get the picture) your smile was infectious and contagious.

Warmest Regards

Gazza H
