Seeking clarity regarding funeral policies

I have a funeral policy with Capitec, covering my mother. It turns out she also has a policy covering herself. I am the beneficiary in both these policies. I researched that upon her death, you may not pay out both policies since they are covered by a single underwriter. Please confirm this so that I can make an informed decision.
