Replacement Card

I noticed that my 84 year old father's bank card will expire on 05/16. I contacted your call centre to enquire if this means the end of May or start of May 2016. I also queried if there are any charges to replace the card.

Your call centre agent was very abrupt and told me that only the first card is ever free. Why must we pay R56 for a new card which through no fault of his is not going to be working in a month's time. I explained that I had been with him when he opened this account with Capitec and at no stage was he informed that when his card expires, he needs to pay for a new card. He still has his original card and I cannot see why he needs to pay this amount. This is *******, we are always protesting against unfair and unreasonable charges but this is taking it too far. I have had my own account at other banks who never charges me for such things. Why do Capitec ***** from the less fortunate?
