Refusal to credit his account following a sim swop ****.
My brother in Law Richard Maswanganyi, a client of Capitec, bank account no ***, Savings account, opened in Witbank, Mpumalanga. He was a victim of Sim swop **** on the 23rd of September 2019 on his cell number linked to his accounts ***. An amount of R3030.00 was taken from his account on the 23rd and 24th of September 2019. He became aware on the 25th and reported the incident to Capitec and accordingly changed his account. He was advised to open a ******** Case, which he did at Giyani Police station CAS 75/10 2019 and to return to Capitec after 8 days, which he did. However, upon return to Capitec, He was told that his case is closed and couldn't be assisted further. His ****** money was never compensated back. On the 17th of October, again they refused to credit his account for the ****** amount.
After calling Vodacom to get an explanation as o what transpired, he was informed that the number has been swopped and ported to cell C. Cell C told him to wait for two months.
