Refusal of assistance

I am banking with Absa so last week I made a payment to a wrong account number of a Capitec client. I realized after 3days that the beneficiary did not receive the money, I went to Absa bank to explain my problem, they told me they will send a request to Capitec for a refund from the client and that process will take 3days. So Capitec says they will call the client and ask if he/she received the money if the client says no then there's nothing that can be done and if the client then agrees that he/ she received the money they will ask the client to pay the money back. My problem is that as a bank they have records of all transactions of their clients why do they ask coz they know that money went into that account, I'm so frustrated I have to pay R10000 to the owner where am I going to get that money if the client denies it? Please assist
