Prescription bars one from ever receiving loan from capitec bank
Debt prescription nightmare.
My debt prescribed years ago. Last month, when I opened a savings account with Capitec, the consultant asked if she could apply for a loan facility for me and possibly consider switching my salary over to them. I was reluctant but agreed, the application was declined due to a debt that was handed over for collections over 6 years ago.
I was adviced to call the legal department, which I did. I was then told that since the debt prescribed, Capitec will never do business with me, I must forget about ever getting a loan facility from them ever again because of that prescribed debt.
NCR should really look into such because people do get rehabilitated at some point in their lives and banks should not penalise them for the rest of their lives for mistakes that each one at some point in lives commit.
