Payment goes through on a cancelled card several days after it was cancelled and disposed off in branch ! !

Extremely frustrated. My card was expiring at the end of august, went in to renew. Got new card and the representative advised the old one has been removed from my account and cancelled. To my surprise a payment of over R2000.00 went off from the apparently cancelled card. Checked on my banking app and only the new card is showing as active on my account. Honestly, after having banked with capitec for over a decade, this is extremely worrisome. How am I supposed to trust a bank with my money, if cancelled cards remain active.
