Pathetic service

I was retrenched on 31 January 2025. I submitted a retrenchment claim form and this was approved on 17 February 2025. I am currently still unemployed.

Every month the credit card division does a debi check and if there is any funds in my account the debi check removes the funds. The insurance is paying the credit card every month as well.

I have been to the branch in Table Bay Mall. The manager wrote an email to Insurance Claims and still no resolution.

I have now opened a Standard Bank account and moved all my funds and debit orders to that account. My husband transfers money to me every month for the debit orders and Capitec Credit Card receives the instalment and the money from Insurance.

I have called and written emails. The agents tell me that they cannot remove the debi check and this costs me unpaid debit charges.

Good Day I received my UIF funds for being retrenched. Capitec Credit Card has deducted R2137,67 from my account. How disgusting is this. Taking money from someone who is retrenched and still receiving payment from retrenchment insurance. The account will not be paid up as every month they charge me interest, insurance etc. Capitec are dispicable.

I have called back twice and she has not returned my call. I am now holding for 6 minutes waiting to speak to her team leader. Such ****ty service to resolve an issued already raised six months ago with them

At 15:15 I receive a call from Siya. I am told that I knew I was being retrenched at the end of January 2025 and I still used by credit card in January 2025. I was not going to claim from retrenchment insurance as there was a possibility of a contract position being offered. This did not materialise and I then lodged the insurance claim which was processed and approved on 17 February 2025. This should cover all debt from date of claim. I was advised by Siya that the insurance division of Capitec is stating that I knew I was being retrenched and still used by credit card. They also advised that is the reason why they are taking money out of my account as well as receiving the insurance payment. They have further advised that the whole outstanding amount will not be covered. There is a balance of RR36943,88, Capitec is going to pay a further R20000 and I am to pay a balance of R16943,88 The other issue is that every month from the payment received from Insurance, I am charged interest for purchase, death insurance, disability insurance, unemployment insurance, interest for cash withdrawal months before the claim a total of R944,26 which means that only R4207,44 from the insurance payment goes towards the debt. I am still unemployed so how am I supposed to pay more than R16000 when all these charges are still being added Capitec are ****mers.

Today at 15:00 I receive an email that the case is closed. Case Number: Case ***1
Capitec will continue to deduct money if any in my account. They must read the terms and conditions of their policy. No where does it state that I should not have used my card prior to claiming from the insurance. No where does it state that they will not be paying the outstanding amount. According to the policy they are supposed to pay for 24 months but in my claim they are only paying for 10 months and I must pay the balance outstanding.
