Pathetic Customer Service / Care from Capitec Bank
I'm writing this review, out of frustration, with regards to Capitec Banks arrogance and don't care attitude.
I have got 2 personal loans at Capitec Bank, which are being paid, before the "SET DUE DATE", as per my Debit Order Instruction, which was set up, the day I've app**** for these loans. My Debit Order Instructions are, to Debit my Nedbank account, on the 25th of every month, due to be my monthly salary date.
For some reason, beyond my knowledge and control, Capitec Bank has altered or set up new Debit Order dates, for these loans to be deducted. Every month, round about the 23rd or 24th, Capitec deduct money from my account, for the loan payments or installments, this adding additional banking fees are added to my Nedbank account due to "EARLY DEBIT ORDER' clearance fees or notification.
This month, our salary date was on the 25th, which was a Monday, so we only got paid during the night of the 25th going into the 26th. That said, is not the reason why I'm writing this review. Apparently Capitec tried to deduct the installments from my Nedbank Account, on the 20th 0f November 2024, which is 5 days before my set Debit Order arrangements. Now I'm constantly being harrased by Capitec, via SMS, Whatsup, Phone Calls, for what they described as, "MY ACCOUNT IS IN ARREARS" which I don't agree with.
During the night or morning of the 25th or 26th, Capitec has successfully deducted the installments from my Nedbank Account, as per arrangement.
When you phone their Customer Care Line, the one person want to be more arrogant that the next one, not even listening to what you have to say, because their system say, "YOU ARE IN ARREARS AND WHY ARE YOU IN ARREARS".
If I'm not paying my account or loans for months on end and there has been arrangements in place for it to be done, be free to phone me or contact me, any way seems fit to do. Furthermore, all payments are due on the 7th of every month, not when Capitec feels like taking money from your account, but for it being convenient, you sign up for a debit order, the day of your salary date, or the day after, not like Capitec does.
Capitec need to get a wake-up call, for claiming to have the right to access your account at any given time, without your consent, to deduct money for any loan or what ever you may have, irrespective if the installment/s are due or not.
Hello Peter please advise what am I to do, to stop this issue for once and for all, surely I'm not the only person that are having this problem, or has been harassed for this incompetence before.
That said, this is the first and certainly the last, that I will ever do business with Capitec Bank, I feel sorry for their unsuspected clients that are being ripped of in any legal way and manner they feel fit to do it.
Thanks,
Neels Burr-Dixon
