Pathetic
Following a ***** that was reported and concluded by the bank that it was a client's fault. There was no investigation done as suspected. They then opened an investigation following my hello peter review. A week later, they call to say they see that the incident is *****, but the client compromised her security details. I mean who doesn't know not to give out a pin? We are talking about a client who worked for financial institutions all her life even now as I type this. Capitec insult clients. They must be pushed to open investigation, and then come back with insults after that. They actually don't investigate coz they know that what ever the findings, they will still put a blame on clients. Even these ********** do it freely coz they know they will get away with it. Capitec has pictures and addresses of the ********** but nothing is ever done about it. Now a person who worked very hard the whole month does not even have transport money to go to work while someone walks free and the bank won't take responsibility because they don't care. Capitec bank doesn't care about clients. They don't even wanna fix their security gaps instead they blame clients to hide their own cheap labour security. Clients are not safe. I don't care if yours is safe today, tomorrow it might be you. You sitting at home minding your business while your account is being cleaned. What's the use of confirming it to be ***** if you still not gonna take responsibility? This is BS, people you need to open your eyes. Capitec bank is pathetic. Investigation or not, one conclusion, you as a client you will always be at FAULT. It is disgusting, no peace of mind of mind as they claim. Simplified banking that put clients at risk of loosing the little that they work so hard for. Global 1 bull****, even if I were to pay something using my app, they would be Alot of pop ups confirming if I am the one making such payment, how is then easy for ********** to just take? Capitec is aware of this ****, they are just protecting their brands and employees. This is disgusting. I am gonna make sure to spread this as much as I possibly can.

SO CAPITEC SAYS
- That they see that money was transferred from a newly downloaded app.
(But there's nothing they can do)
-There was no swimswap done so its probably someone that she gave her pin to.
(Who gives away her pin?)
(my phone was used to call the bank after realizing that she cannot access her account or anything to do with network)
-that she tried to reset her pin around 10pm
(this is when she connected to Wi-Fi and tried to access her banking app and it required credentials and later told her to visit a branch)
1. As much as the app required her to go to the branch, why didn't it ask the same from the **********?
2. If they say there was no swimswap done, then where did they send the link to activate the app as that was a new device.
3. We all know the app is supposed to make life easier, but how is it that a person can download it from a different device and still be able to activate the app without the link sent to a registered cell phone number?
4. I believe if a person know/saw your pin, they can ***** your phone or card to make transfers and withdrawals.
Luckily with withdrawals a client can see fast and block the card if they still have their phone.
However with the banking app a person can just transfer whatever amount if they stole a client's phone and know the pin.
This specific case, non of that happened. A client had her phone and her bank card with her.
Taking all of the above to consideration, how is this a client's fault?
Another important factor from my frustrated self, Capitec bank made it easy to transfer money by adding the cell phone number service.
You just put in a cellphone number and it confirms the details of the beneficiary and done. But when you check your statement, it's hardly a cell phone number that you see but an account number which makes it very difficult to know who the person might be.
We have true caller and other means of tracing a cell phone number but we never get an opportunity to get those numbers.
An account number forces a person to go to the branch and be more frustrated by the same capitec staff that will tell you to go open a case when all the money you had just got ****** right in front of the "best bank in SA with the best Tech".
I don't know what you wanna do with this information, but there it is.
They claim "bank easy" while they allow all this nonsense to happen to poor client's accounts.
Not to be trusted at all.
