Overall good experience but some annoyances

I have been with Captic for almost 9 months now. Overall, my experience with them has been pleasant. They offer an intuitive and simple banking experience, and their fees are definitely competitive.

My primary recurring issue with them is the unpleasant experience I have had with paying registered beneficiaries. I will highlight two cases that have been of particular annoyance to me:

- The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). I have outstanding student debt which I pay monthly using my Capitec account. NSFAS comes as a pre-registered beneficiary with Capitec, and the recipient email to which proof of payments (POP) is sent is also pre-set. I have no problem with this. What I do have a problem with is that, because the POP recipient is pre-set, I am unable to generate an additional proof of payment for my own records using my banking app. For someone like me who likes to keep a tight personal record of my finances and transactions, this is extremely annoying. When I first encountered this problem it wasn't too much of an issue, because I would simply send an email to Capitec customer service directly and request that a POP be sent to me for my most recent payment to NSFAS. For the first few months this went smoothly - Capitec would respond quickly and send me the POP without hesitation. However, after a few months I was instructed that I could no longer do this, but would have to phone Capitec directly to request the POP. What an inconvenience for something I should be able to request simply using my phone app! What is especially annoying is that every time I phone Capitec to request the POP, the consultant instructs me to go on my app and request the POP! And so every time I have to explain the story to them. I have contacted Capitec multiple times about this issue. Most of the time I am ignored. At one point they tried to help me, but simply told me that they had contacted NSFAS and confirmed that the pre-set email recipient was correct (This was after I was told by Capitec that I should contact NSFAS, only to be told by NSFAS that I should contact Capitec). But the NSFAS recipient was never the issue - the fact that I cannot generate a POP for myself was! To this date I have not been assisted, and there is no mechanism with Capitec by which I can get hold of someone in higher management to rectify this silly issue.

- Coronation Fund Managers. I hold a small investment with Coronation Fund Managers. In order to make additional investments into my account I must send money to Coronation (a registered beneficiary with Capitec) and then send the POP to Coronation. However, the POP generated for Coronation does not include the bank account number! So when sending the POP to Coronation, I am told that they cannot use my POP as proof because their bank account number does not reflect on the POP. How absurd!
