Outrage of *********** managers damaging customers

I have opened my account with the Capitec last year in the Mimosa Mall branch in Bloemfontein. I have a Temporary Residence visa and I am residing and working in Bloemfontein since 2015 (meaning, I am being paid and pay my bills here for the last 4 years).

This month my old visa was expiring, and I received a note from Capitec to submit the extension of my residence permit. So I extended my visa in the Department of Home Affairs and brought it to my Capitec branch for them to process the paperwork. They have sent a copy of my extended visa to the main office for further processing.

Now the lady in the head office answers to the branch that my visa is not good enough for having an account with Capitec, and that she initiated cancellation of my account in the end of this month (in 3 days from now!). They answer that this was the same visa type, with which my account was opened and was functioning for several months. And so far there was not a problem!

The lady from the head office answers to the branch that my account should have NOT been opened at a first place! She further says that to have an account with Capitec, I need a temporary residence/work permit.

Now, to clarify, my visa "Visitors Visa Section 11(1)B(III) Research", according to the IMMIGRATION LAW of South Africa, falls under a category "Temporary Residence", subcategory "Work Visa". This is a publically available information, issued by the Department of Home Affairs.

The lady from the head office obviously does not know the rules and laws of her own country, if not to say that she is utterly ***********, but instead of spending 5 minutes to browse the DHA website and to do her research, finding out about the situation, she just hits the button "cancel the account" (why bother?). No thought about the trouble and headache that she will create for the customer.

Leave alone that I have not even received a note or sms about this express account cancellation, I have accidentally found out about it today, by dropping by the branch.

Imagine, my account will be blocked in 3 days, my bills would not be paid, and I would not be paid my salary, and I do not have another bank account at the moment! I will be at a financial loss and will spend the next month opening new account in another bank and running around changing my banking details everywhere possible.

In that case, will Capitec refund me my lost money, time and moral damage? Will the *********** manager bear any repercussions for her damaging actions?

Don't you need your customers?
