OPENING AN ACCOUNT - PENSIONER

My Mum, who is a pensioner cancelled her ABSA bank account as she was told Capitec is the best with minimal banking charges. My folks go to Capitec in Pietermaritzburg, takes her pension card, ID and proof of residence to open an account, she is refused cos there are outstanding documents. The outstanding document apparently is an account that she has to back up her residential address. My Mum does not have no account/s. She pays for cash in all her purchases. How can she have such when she has no outstanding debts / statement that reflects the residential address?????????

My Mum cannot obtain banking statements as she does not have a banking account currently. She closed her ABSA bank account as she thought it was easy and simple process to open a Capitec bank account.

Please contact me so i can assist, advise and guide my Mum - i am based in Johannesburg.
