Not able to pay loan due to retrenchment

I took out a loan in September 2014, I paid the loan every month without fail till I was retrenched, even though I submitted my retrenchment documents to the branch to claim on the insurance of the loan, they called the claims department and I was very skillfully talked into paying a lower amount every month for the next 3 months, this was in September, I have yet to hear back from the Claims department since September and I feel I was bul**** into paying something that I can no longer afford. But as per the agent, she advised that I will be reimbursed these lower payment amounts that I am paying once the insurance claim is approved.<br> <br> Recently, I received a letter stating that the payment amount is going to be increased to R3000+ in December and I am still unemployed and will not be able to pay this. Please advise a way forward.
