No Response to Complaint

This is a repost because Capitec thought it was a good idea not to apologize to the person in question. I will keep posting this ever 5 days until you apologize to her. She does not have access to internet and asked me to handle it for her.

My mom’s humble domestic worker opened an account at this horrible bank on the 25th of April 2016. Her account got frozen on the 1st of November 2016 because they want her to FICA again. (The account is only a couple of months old). I went to the Westgate branch with her to try and help as she desperately needed access to her own money. She has been to the bank once and did not clearly understand why her account was frozen. She is a sole breadwinner in the house and has to provide for a 3 year old. I was told by an extremely *********** employee to get a signed letter from my mother that declares where she resides, accompanied by a copy of her ID. His name is Busana Majadibodu (Counter 5). He showed me exactly why I don’t bank with you. He was rude and very arrogant the whole time. I have never seen anybody with less compassion for another human in my life. Busana Majadibodu was very unhelpful and basically told her he does not care if she has money for food or traveling as she chose NOT to FICA before the deadline. She explained she did not get anything from them until the account was frozen. (Keep in mind the account was FICA approved on the 25th of April 2016) He repeatedly said they started sending her notices via sms for the last 3 months. So this means the account was just 2 months old when he claims she started getting messages. Give me a break. But OK, we will comply.

I arranged the signed letter and attached a utility bill and copy of my mom’s ID. I got her to sign a letter to declare she lives at her house exactly as the utterly uns****ed agent requested. Got back to Capitec later the same day and the very same Busana Majadibodu tells her he won’t be able to use the letter because it should not just state she lives there but also she WORKS there… I mean FICA is to confirm proof of residence, what does it have to do with her place of employment? She phoned me close to tears from the bank as I did not go with. I knew I sent everything he asked. I asked to speak to him over the phone and he seemed to enjoy the fact that he will deny this undeserving lady access to her money for a couple of days. Keep in mind this was on a Friday afternoon. Eventually I hung up because it was very clear that Busana Majadibodu had a major power trip and enjoyed to see her cry and suffer. I was not going to convince him he was wrong, even though I know that letter was exactly what he asked for and definitely sufficient. He obviously has no respect and the way he spoke was outright unprofessional, he spoke to me like I was one of his drunken buddies standing around a fire. Saying things like, “I told you, but you did not listen” – Although I got exactly what he asked.

He sent her away that day without any access to her own money. She had to borrow money for a taxi home. It’s SHOCKING! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You are definitely not a bank for the people. You can’t freeze an account that is hardly 5 months old and not give this hard working lady access to her own money so she can feed her kid. I love how you guys wait until the 1st of the month to make sure she has the most inconvenient time imaginable… Well done Capitec, you suck!

I will preach against you everywhere I go. Oh, before I forget, well done to the unprofessional cruel staff member for getting the ass of the year award!

Dear Busana Majadibodu, just so you know, she took the same exact same documents you denied to another branch and the account was unfrozen immediately. She however lost a full day’s income as she had to take off work to go to the bank to resolve an issue you created… So, Busana Majadibodu I hope you are proud of yourself. You literally took food out of her mouth because you are spiteful and vindictive.

Not the kind of person you want to associate your brand with. I’m very thankful I don’t bank with you, you are only as good as the employees who represent your values…
