No response and no recourse
I recently had to have a card replaced. Due to this, Mastercard Securecode enrollment needed to happen again. <br> <br> I went to the Golden Acre branch, where I was presented with a staff member who, firstly did not have an iota of a clue of how to do the actual replacement, and had to keep shouting to someone in the back office area as to what to do. I tried both codes and neither worked, and eventually the card was suspended due to too many tries. I subsequently returned to the bank 5 times, waited 24 hours after receiving each new securecode, yet the account remained suspended. I then went back again, destroyed the card in front of the teller, and received, again, two activation codes by sms. <br> <br> I then waited 72 hours, and attempted the second activation code again. Again my (new) card shows suspended. I have spoken to client services, helpdesk (at the bank) and they ensured me nothing is wrong on their side. The incompetence at branch, helpdesk and customer service level is so poor, it seems that they are all reading from a script, and they point blank refuse to escalate it to a technical (database) person. I have no recourse. This is a final attempt to get this resolved.
