Money making scheme?

<p>My card expired a while ago, but I didn’t want to pay for a replacement card, as I only use the account for investment and internet banking. Today I went to the branch to make a fixed deposit, but they refuse to do it, because of the expired card. The card is not used inside the branch to create a fixed deposit account, only fingerprint. Is this just a scheme for them to make money from the clients?</p>
