Money disappears at Capitec Bank
Absolutely unacceptable experience at Capitec Bank. They close my savings account with approximately R400 in it after 12 months of no activity. Hello, what is the purpose of a savings account if not to protect an investors money?

Then their customer desk informs me to go to the branch to re-FICA myself.

What they do not tell me is the mission to get fingerprints taken - THREE times over and the system fails every time. Why this to re-open an account? Why must they request my biometric data anyway? It's not their right to demand that. Plus its invasive.

Then comes the kicker. I ask to close my account because of their obvious incompetence. Can't even do that because the finger prints not being accepted.

You know what? KEEP the R400 - R500 balance (I was not even informed how much).
I walk out of your branch. I will however be filing a charge with SAPS against Capitec Bank for theft.

Whose interests are you protecting Capitec? Surely not mine but yours!

As the saying goes, you pay peanuts, you get ******s. Well certainly that is my experience. I am going to ensure that everybody I know is informed. Don't believe the television adverti*****t misleading mumbo jumbo.
