It seems like many people are complaining about unauthorised debit orders from their accounts. A young man working for us had the same issue and said that marketers in a mall from Clientele insurance said they would give him a voucher if he had a Capitec account. Unwisely he gave it to them and then 3 months later R500 was deducted as a debiit order from his account.

04 Jul 2024, 12:15Our young worker phoned his Capitec bank as was told he had to cancel his debit order with Clientel that they or he could not cancel this procured debit order........ however the ombudsmen for banking services see... OBS online .... is quite explicit that he could legally have cancelled this debit order himself with his Bank. This was not advised. I would think your staff need to be educated.
