Luke Hughes - Capitec Lady Grey Consultant

I have been a client of Capitec Bank since the opening of the first Capitec branch in Paarl.

I think I was one the first people to open an account and has always promoted the Bank for the excellent savings account and interest rates. Unfortunately due to my history I was never able to secure any loans from Capitec Bank.

One criticism I had of the Bank is the availability of ATMs, which I see has been corrected. Still Capitec Bank has a large client base, of which I notice a very high number of illiterate clients who struggles with ATM and technology. ATM availability during lunch breaks remains a nightmare and I often use other banks because Q's are just too long and slow.

MY COMPLIMENT

We’ve always only complimented the Capitec Bank’s dress code. Capitec ensures their staff are well attired however this is somewhat of the only compliment I had as banking services is not a strong point to your bankers. They lack client service and comprehension however my recent engagements with a particular banker at Capitec Lady Grey branch is of remembrance and I am glad to make time to write this compliment which I am also sharing on Hello Peter, I only fear that the banker might become too busy after this. Yet, I hope others will follow his example and also go the extra mile.

I approached Luke Hughes, consultant 4 some time ago for assistance on the banking app and financing. At the time I had a serious need as my landlord had sold their house which we rented and had to urgently obtain funds for a deposit for a new apartment. He tried everything he could to assist me, and when he was unable to do so, I totally understood the reasons why I was declined, for which he even tried to assist me to rectify my issue. I fortunately got an apartment by means of own funds however, I just got a call from Luke Hughes who firstly apologised that he was not available, turns out he was off sick, he enquired whether I had resolved my personal issue and got an apartment. He even offered any assistance going forward.

I don’t know this guy, yet he has proven to me why I need to stay with the Bank which offers a great product and now, thanks to him a great service too. He deserves recognition for excellence.
