Low Cost, Low Competence
Last year October I went to Egypt on a dream holiday. I went into two Capitec Branches, N1 City and Cape Gate, to inform them of my travels. Having always only received the very best of service from them, I expected no hiccups. Arriving at Cairo International, I wanted to draw cash for my cab ride to the hotel - Insufficient Funds. Long story short - I was stuck in a foreign country and spent R2000 trying to phone my bank who just put me on hold or had me speak to automated pre-recorded services. I tried to have my brother and a good friend phone on my behalf, but they wouldn't allow them as I had to speak with them (R2000 in airtime, remember). I mailed, I phoned, I wrote them on Facebook... I was terrified
I closed my account with them as I had my dream holiday destroyed by incompetence
