Lost money from capitec bank via wrong number
Hi guys I have a problem with capitec bank on December 1st I deposited money to a wrong number(R1100) which was ment to be for my landlord so I missed my landlord number phone by one number and ended up dialing wrong one so I went to capitec bank mega mart in tembisa tshwelopele to report my matter on what happened and they told me they can't help me because the person that I mistakenly sent the money to does not have money on her account and they can't deduct it even if she has money because they are not allowed to access her account [i even try to call her she is no longer answering my phone) capitec bank told me to go to report it at small claim court and when went there to report they told me they can't help me because capitec bank is the one who should be responsible for my matter the are the one who should help me and now am stuck because capitec bank says they can't help me.so please help I need to pay my landlord dues

I refer to your complaint raised via Hello Peter, which concerns the incorrect transfer made on 1 December 2022.
As discussed via telephone, the recipient of your payment had utilised the funds by 5 January 2023, when the bank became aware of the incorrect transfer. At this point, we were in no position to secure funds in the recipient account.
Should you wish to pursue this matter, you may approach the Payments Association of South Africa (PASA) to log a case of unjustified enrichment.
