Lockdown Shakedown
My premium for May 2020 on my credit card was around R1750. Before end May 2020 I've paid an amount of more than R3300 towards my credit card i.e. almost twice the required amount.
The morning of Friday, 7 June 2020. I received notification from my transacting account held at another institution that a debit order from Capitec Credit Card to the amount of R254.52 was rejected due to insufficient funds which was the case as everything that was supposed to have been paid, had already been paid.
I contacted Capitec and logged a complaint (***2) on Friday, 7 June 2020. The consultant agreed that I paid more than what I was supposed to have paid and that the debit order shouldn't have been actioned from their side.
He advised me of a 48-hour turnaround time as this wasn't something that happened everyday.
Today, despite numerous attempts to follow up the resolution of this (as I expect a communication in writing by them stating that they acted in error), still no feedback.
My accounts have been running quite well for a couple of years now as I'm planning on purchasing a house in the nearby future - now, my transactional bank has advised me that rejected debit order will affect my credit rating - what is Capitec's response on destroying your credibility by errors from their side - a simple sorry won't do.
Feedback will be provided within five working days. I trust that this situation will be resolved to your satisfaction.
