Loan Approved then declined all in one week ?

I had app**** for a consolidation loan which was going to make a huge difference in my finances, submitted all the documents and indeed my monthly repayments were in the region of R8800+ per month plus I had a Fnb temp loan over and above and not once have I ever missed my repayments none I always make sure that they are paid on agreed date. When the consultant called me he said well we’ll do the consolidation for you it would come to the amount of just over R34k plus you the R35k plus will be paid over to your account, send documents, you are approved for R70k, sent documents and got text message acknowledging the documents and that the consultant will call later that morning indeed got the call that my employment had been verified, supervisor signed off on my documents and got to credit or whoever after the verification I presume again text message acknowledging receipt and that I’ll get a call around 11am consultant called so sad and disappointed and all he could say was sorry it wasn’t approved despite being told it was approved and I will get the consolidation and that was last week on Tuesday meanwhile I’m busy making arrangements with creditors of paying them off even asking for the settlement letters. And I was told that I’d be paying around about R2500+ per month which would have made a huge difference saving me over R6200+ per month in debt repayment.

I get that I have debts but there has never been a time where these debts weren’t not serviced and that should count for something. I’m disappointed because that change in decision had really changed my financial standing of having to look for credit to resolve short term cash flow problems as there was no longer the solution.

I’m sad and feel let down by how one can say we’ve confirmed signed off everything to no you didn’t get the loan my heart almost stopped. I wasn’t even bothered if the loan term was shorted.
