Incomplete cash withdrawal.

Good day

Please assist me on the matter below:

I have made a cash withdrawal from CAPITEC JNB KERK (branch name) ATM on May 3, 2017 at 17:23pm.

Before withdrawing I have noticed that where the money comes out from the ATM is blinking orange showing that the ATM soon will runout of cash but I continued making a withdrawal thinking if it does not have enough money it won’t allow me to continue with the transaction but everything went well so I withdraw R3000.00. As usual after making any withdrawal, I did not count the money, as it is not safe in Johannesburg to count lot of money and I could not count it inside the Taxi as it is still not a safe place to count an amount like R3000.00 so I just putted it on my handbag and left.

When I got home, 9pm I counted the money and noticed that it was R1000.00 short and no one could have took it as I stay alone and no one visited me that night so I immediately called Capitec Customer care line and explained my problem just like I did to you and I asked her what might have happened with the ATM since where the money comes out it was blinking orange and her replay was: 1. it is either the ATM did not give me the full amount I requested which means it might happen that the next person might have received my remaining R1000.00 / it got stack inside the ATM, or 2.someone might have tried to rob the ATM and I was the unlucky person to get ****** of my R1000.00 which I do not understand because this people usually take the whole amount not just some of it. The person gave me a reference number telling me an agent will call me the next day.

May 4, 2017 morning I received a call from another Capitec agent following my call I made on 3 May 2017 during the night. She asked me what happened and I explained to her just as I did when I called so she asked me what does the sms I got after withdrawing say the amount is and she checked my bank statement and it all say it is R3000.00 which I do not understand as I only received R2000.00. She told me another agent would call me within 3 working days. I told her after work I am going back to the branch to tell them what happened and she told there is no need as the is nothing they can do but call just as I did. However, after work I still went there, as it is painful for me loosing that amount just like that. At the branch, they called customer care line and explain my story. They told me to wait for 3 days if they do not get back to me I should come back with the new reference number the consultant at the branch gave me.

May 5, 2017 I received an sms from Capitec saying: “Capitec: Ms Maluleke your matter is currently being attended to by Nozi from our? Service Admin team.?It can take up to 14 working days or more. For queries phone ********** 838 REF ********** 1”.

May 16, 2017 as my heart was still painful that I have lost R1000.00 that I still do not understand how I called Capitec to find out what is going on with my inquiry. The agent gave me another reference number for the call saying they are still investigating and I should wait until the 14 working days is finished which is Friday the 26. After the call I received another sms saying: “Capitec: Ms Maluleke your matter is currently being attended to by Nozi from our? Service Admin team. For queries phone ********** 838 REF ********** 1”.

May 29, 2017 Nozi called me telling me after the investigation the only amount that G4S Company can see it is only R580.00 then I asked her what about the rest she told me they do not know but they can only see R580.00 and that is what they are going to put in my account. I got so angry and told her it is not fair for them see the whole amount but some of it and since it is their machines fault and not mine. I asked her again why do they only see R580.00 and not the whole amount she still insisted that the amount they can see is R580.00. Therefore, I asked her what should I do when the situation is like this, she told me to take the R580.00 and call them again and complain about the R420.00 that remains. I told her I will go to the branch again and explained what she told me thinking maybe they would have a solution for my problem then I dropped the call on her, as she was not helping me with anything but frustrating me. I received R580.00 from Capitec with Ref: CPC ********** 3901 on my account and not the full amount, which is R1000.00.

I went to the branch explained what Nozi told me over the phone they called the customer care line and explain what Nozi told me the consultant was told that everything is my fault because I dropped the call while Nozi was explained what I should do which is wrong as I asked what happened to the other remaining amount and she told me they do not know but they can only see R580.00 and I also asked her what should I do now and she told me to call them again and complain about the R420.00 which for me it is a waste of time since we on the phone why don’t she just log another complain so that they will tell me why am I not getting the whole amount anyway why do they only see R580.00 and not the whole amount. At the branch, they told me to complain again and I told them that is useless since you not giving me the right answers.

Please assist me R1000.00 is a lot for me to just loose it, only receiving R580.00 of it, and not given a straight answer about the remaining amount (420.00).
