Impossible to settle my Debt

I have a debt review which is under my Name, causing me to not be unable to apply for a loan ,rent a apartment etc. To begin with I only had 1 month left to pay of my total debt until I lost my Job and was unable to settle the remainder of the Debt. I visited Capitec to settle the remaining Debt under my name to which I was told the debt was handed over to a Debt collector in which this case was DMC .After contacting DMC I asked for a Copy of the full statement of the account from day 1 and also a copy of the Judgement and proof of signature. DMC had no record of my statement or a copy of my Judgement, infact told that it was handed over to Vertex Solution's. I contacted Vertex to get this resolved ,they also did not have any record of my statement or a copy of my Judgement. They only want me to settle a Debt amount that is greater than what I started in the first place
