I have to close my Standard Bank overdraft because of Capitec Bank

I got a loan from Capitec three months ago, and asked to be debited on the 25th of every month. My payslip unfortunately says I get paid on the 24th, and therefore Capitec declined my request. My argument was simply that there is no salary in my account the entire day of the 24th, and it appears that the money comes in just before midnight. On the first debit month, early morning of October 24th my phone notified me that Capitec has taken his money (from my overdraft). Second month was the same story, and I missed out on Black Friday..haha! Third month (December) was even worse as I got debited on the 20th with no prior arrangement. This is when I decided I've had enough, so I called the customer care number to lay a complaint and to ask how what to do. I visited a Cape Town Capitec branch to try and change. I was told to bring a bank statement in order to be assisted. The autoplus machine Standard bank near Capitec was not printing statements that day and the bank was already closed. It was just before 17h00 (on Wednesday 20 Dec) and there it was too late to go somewhere else.

I took a day off from work the following day so that I can try and solve this. I visited the Philippi branch at Shoprite shopping centre with my bank statement, and I was sent home to bring my payslip as well. So I went home and came back. To cut the story short, I was told that the debit date cannot be changed. I asked the consultant to please consult with her manager, and the answer back the same. I decided to try my luck another branch, not that it helped much. The only suggestion I got here was to get a letter from HR stating that I get paid on the 25th. They (the consultant and manager) also indicated that this will just be an appeal, and there is no guarantee as the payslip says otherwise. I then realised that getting a letter will is probably not going to solve anything as the paylsip seems to be the decider. So I decided to go all the way to Capitec Head office in Stellenbosch. Let me just say the service I got from the other branches was much than the one I received in Stellenbosch.

The bottom line is that I have to close my overdraft in order for Capitec to debit me on the 25th! I was seriously considering to have salary deposited in my new Capitec account, but now I seems to have more reasons not to.
