How does the system approve a loan on Saturday and not on Monday?

I app**** for a personal loan from Capitec Brakpan branch on Saturday, 4 November and was told that I definitely qualify (for a bit less than I wanted, but still acceptable). I asked her before I left the branch whether it would definitely be approved once the confirmation of employment is done on Monday (because our HR department is not at the office over weekends) and she said yes, no question, it will be approved. When the consultant put my details in again on Monday after confirming my employment, I suddenly did not qualify for any loan. She could not give me an answer when I asked her why. Her excuse was that "the system must have updated over the weekend". How does the system approve a loan on Saturday and then not on Monday??
