Frozen account
I write this review with disappointment yesterday I noticed in my app that my savings account funds was not appearing on the app and I could not access my account. I went to Durban North branch and discovered that my account was frozen, at first they said I received an amount of R1500 which is **********, thank God I still had my sms notification to show that what they stated was not true and the consultant wanted to dismiss me already, thereafter they said no it was an amount of R10 which I received from a person who committed *****, hence the account is closed. Capitec does not even not notify you when you receive small amounts of money. I was then advised to write an affidavit, which I did but my account is still frozen, and I left the branch without any assistance.
This is were it’s get interesting, I was with my colleague who had a frozen account aswell And we went together to the branch. It was also discovered that she received an amount of R50 but to my suprise she was assisted and her account was unfrozen. They did not even ask for an affidavit. There is no consistency with capitec, poor service and your consultant lack knowledge. I am a good standing client, I’ve been with the banks for more than 10 years, and was inconvenience for a R10 and I was not even notified of the ********** behavior on my account.
I would definitely take my salary to another bank.
