********** outshine Capitec bank by faaaaar!

I have been a Capitec Client for 13 years. And to be fair i havnt had any issues with the bank . i lived and worked overseas and even then my account stayed open and was utilised. My monthly salary has been going into my account and i transact with only this bank. I always believed that Capitec is better then any other bank and that i would never take my account anywhere else. Laat week Sunday i was a victim of *****. A brief run down ....There was an amount of R20900 in my account. At approximately 12:50pm in the day, i had transfered R20500 to my mum for the purchasing of a vehicle. Which means there was R400 left in my account. At 16:05pm that same day i recieve an sms notification that R1900 was withdrawn out of my account which i couldnt understand as there was only R400 left in the account , and my account would now obviuosly be in a negative R1400.Within a minute of recieving the sms notification, i called the bank and requested for my card to be stopped and advised them that money was withdrawn from my account, and i am at a car wash and no where near the atm. I was told that the matter will be escalated. Today, i get a call from Capitec and was told that the money was withdrawn using my original card and pin which again is not possible in any world as the card was in my possession , in fact i used the same card to obtain the telephone number of capitec call centre to call them after recieving the notification. Coming back to the response from capitec, i was told that the money was withdrawn from my account at 11am that morning and the reason i got the notification at 16:05pm in the afternoon is a mobile network delay. Again me being a logical person , i for a second gave the consultant an agreement that we will blame the mobile network for the delay in the notification. Now....lets do the logic and math . There was R20900 in my account initially , capitec claims that R1900 was drawn from my account at 11am ,again for argument sake lets agree with them that would mean that after the withdrawal at 11am as they claim the balance left in my account should have been R19000 , this is just simple math. At 12:50 i had transfered R20500 from my account to my mums account and the balance left was just under R500 . The cherry on the top here is that for this specific tranaactiion i had immediately recieved an sms notification ,can we still the mobile network for the delay? I dont think so! The scenario at this point is , that i only have just under R500 in my account at 12:50pm. How is it possible for someone to withdraw more then the amount in the account and that too with a card that is in my posession. Capitec clained that the money was drawn from my card , the card that was with me. Im saying that card skimners and ********** are now able to claim the same card that was in pocket or somehow magically take it out of my wallet and wirhdraw from my account using the "same card" , Clearly the ftaudsters are outsmarting the banks. My debit card is in a negative balance with the bank claiming that R1900 was withdrawn at 11am , no sms notification and clearly it was not withdrawn at 11am simply because if it was the R1900 would have immediately been deducted off my account at 11am , that is what happens in the real world and my account was supposed to be R20900-R1900 = R19000 at 11am CORRECT?..NO SMS NOTIFICATION OF THIS TRANSACTION... At 12:50pm i transfered R20500 out of an account which should have a balance of R19000 now as per what capitec claims. IS THIS POSSIBLE? This transaction i get an sms notification that money is transfered and the balance is R490 ...CLEARLY THIS RULES OUT A DELAY ON THE NETWORK PROVIDER. At 17:05 i get a notification that R1900 was withdrawn out of an account that has a balance of R490 , but as capitec claims it was withdrawn at 11am in the morning. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE LOGICALLY? One more disturbing thing i was told by the consultant that called me and i quote "SIR, ********** NORMALLY KNOW HOW MUCH IS IN YOUR ACCOUNT AND WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT YOUR WITHDRAWAL LIMIT AND SWIPING LIMIT WAS R17000 ,THEY WOULD HAVE DRAWN OUT THE MAXUMUM" ...Now my question is the bank acknowledges that ********** are so intelligent and what amazes me even more is that ********** are also able to know the withdrawal LIMIT that only i and my bank know. But they are not intelligent enough to skim an exact copy of my card,, clearly have the ability to even delay notifications from reaching the customers mobile. I highly doubt it! According to Capitecs knowledge, ********** withdraw the max, so my question is , if the max of R17000 was withdrawn from my account , then only would you agree that this was a ********** transaction? AGAIN,PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS LOGICAL.. ? I am dis heartened that R1900 was withdrawn from my account and capitec is not able to assist me , but if the ********** withdrew R17000 then they would help me. This is poor utter BS, excuse my language. I must say that i have been a loyal client of capitec for many many years. And this is my first problem with them, but then again they sat you only learn the true colors when a problem arises. I will ve escalating this to the bank ombudsman aswell, it is a matter of principle and customer loyalty which im sorry to say is not one of capitec banks values! My case number is ********** 7
