***** Alert

All my money was ****** on my Capitech account and I didn't receive any sms notifying me about this. On Monday I went to Checkers to buy items which cost almost R23 and to my surprise the card declined saying insufficient funds, wheni tried to use my app to check my balance and the app couldn't work it showed an error message. I rushed to the bank to find out what was going on and when they go through my bank statement it showed that someone by the name of Miss B Ngcobo whom I don't even know made a transfer using my app and took all my money. How is it possible for someone to use my app without my phone, I'm very disappointed because this means we're not safe from **********. My case was handed over to the ********** department and I'm still waiting for outcome.

Disappointing outcome from the bank with regards to my case. The bank phoned me and told me that unfortunately they won't be able to refund me the money that was ****** because the person who did this used my correct credentials. From their findings this person transferred the money to her Capitech account(the bank knows who this person is) and then transferred it to her Standard bank account and bought crypto currency from Luno with this money. Unfortunately the bank is unable to get back the funds because this person had already used all the money. I was advised to open the case with SAPS because it's only SAPS who can access the footage from the bank and the this person's personal information. From this outcome I'm going to close my Capitech account because it clearly shows that I'm not safe and unfortunately "we're sorry about what happened to you" won't bring my money back.
