******** managed to take money from my account and Capitec now wants me to pay them so they can investigate. It has been over 2 months and I still haven’t gotten any assistance from them. I am utterly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend them to any one

02 Jul 2020, 16:26Good day Taleighsha Redcliffe
We have been in contact with you in regards to the charge back process.
This is how the Chargeback process works:
Capitec Bank will credit your account with the disputed amount/s and debit your savings account with the Chargeback fee of one hundred and fifty rand (International dispute) per transaction upon initiation.
Capitec will then dispute the debited transactions with the external bank. The external bank has up to 46 days in which to respond i.e. provide proof that you have authorized the transaction and received the goods or service. If the merchant and their Bank is unable to successfully prove the above within the forty six-day period, the dispute be ruled in your favor. You will then be Credited with the Chargeback fees applicable.
If the merchant is able to successfully prove that the charges are valid, you will be held liable. Capitec Bank will then debit your account for the disputed transactions again and the dispute fees will not be refunded.
You are more than welcome to contact us, if you would like us to proceed with the charge back process.
Kind regards
