FORENSIC HOLD ON TRANSACTIONS (SPYING)

Been banking with Capitec Bank for past 5 years and never had a problem with them. Higher bank costs and nitty gritty stuff started appearing. It settled for a while with nothing major.

I bought Bitcoin since June and invested with an overseas company. Friday, 11 September, when I wanted to help my son to invest as well, it said that I had to contact my bank. I went in to them and they checked my card and said there was NO problem.

I tried again today, 12 September, and got the same message. I phoned the toll free number and was told that forensics picked up that I was trading online, which is not the truth. They said that I won't be able to invest overseas.

My rights as a citizen of this country are violated not to have the freedom to invest my money as I feel fit. We don't get a competitive interest rate and are taxed on every cent. For every R 100,00 we earn, between R 70 and R 80 are going back to the government as taxes or levies.
