FLaages status when account was fully paid year ago

I have a handed over status that is blocking my account from making any new application. My account was paid of for years and and it was under R2000. I still bank with capitec but its very frustrating to see that when I apply for credit that I am flagged . I send numerous email to CCs enquiries and I was told that Capitec don't have a time line to remove the flagging. I don't see why some should be penalised when an account has been paid up in full
