Extremely disappointed!

On 21 September 2016 at 10:46 am, my Capitec card got swallowed at a Nedbank ATM in Benoni, just across Lake Side Mall. ******* apparently saw the pin and in +about 5 minutes they cleaned out my account. Thinking the machine swallowed my card , I left the ATM ,after I tried phoning Capitec but did not get any answer (10:48 am) -to go to the Lakeside Mall Capitec branch. As I was looking for a spot in the parking zone an sms informed me, at 10:48am ,that all available funds have just been withdrawn at the very same ATM-but while I was driving,my Mom could see the ATM from across the street-she kept an suspicious eye on it-and there was NO ONE there! At the branch it took another 5 mins before the call to stop the card could be made, because the system did not link my ID or fingerprints with my Acc nr(luckily I always keep my Acc nr and ID with me).The card was stopped 10:57am. 14 days later Capitec says they cannot refund my money because: 1. the ******* used my card and the correct pin number. 2. I only reported my card ****** more than 10mins after the money was withdrawn.3. That this is just an expensive lesson for me to learn!!????

I run a small business of my own. This incident caused me to have to borrow money at an interest - so I am losing more than just what was in my account!

I did not ask for this to happen. A quick and neccesary trip to buy packaging cost me 3 times what it should have !! Not to mention the cashflow problem it creates!

I plan on expanding my business by atleast 6 times the size ,in the near future. If this is the kind of losses I may suffer ,I will definately be looking at a different banking partner with better security or atleast that offers insurance in a case like this. From my side I will do what I can to prevent incidents like this, but ********** get more sly each day ,and things like this is statistically bound to happen again!!
