Excessive Electricity charges #*****

I purchased electricity via the Capitec app and paid R2000.00 but only received electricity to the value of only R1495.65 which is 460.5 kWh. (Receipt number: ***) Electricity for the value of R2000.00 should be between 768kWh & 722kWh in the Ekurhuleni district, Tarif A and Tariff B. I then called Capitec to find out why this happened and were notified by the consultant that Capitec do not provide the tokens at all and stated that the purchase was directly to and from the municipality instead, with this, I advised that I purchased the electricity via the Capitec app and therefore rendering this a Capitec issue. Capitec is providing a service to the public by allowing people to purchase electricity from Capitec via the app, this means that Capitec is rendering a service in this regard and should be liable. The consultant could not advise on what happened to the R505.00 that went missing but did advise on a R280.00 fee charge from Capitec to the municipality, this however still does not explain why I was charged R505.00 and should also not be a chargeable fee to the public seeming Capitec is rendering this fee and should do so at their own expense then. The consultant then told me to contact Ekurhuleni to elaborate on the missing funds in an attempt to steer this away from Capitec's responsibility. I then advised to the consultant that I purchased the electricity via Capitec and indicated that Capitec is committing ***** by *****ing money from its clients where the consultant then confirmed this in saying YES they do. (Call ***) Perhaps it is time to move away from Capitec due to the incompetence and transaction *****.

#Think twice before buying electricity via the Capitec App.

PLEASE do contact me as I would surely want this matter to be resolved in a professional manner!

Please allow me to share my thoughts at this time. With the telecom conversation I had yesterday, it is clear that Capitec does not have its client best interest at heart and would rather ***** money from its clients instead of doing clean and honest business. The Capitec app allows one to purchase electricity via the app and thus serves as a middleman between the municipality and the client, with this, Capitec involved itself to some degree and responsibility where the money deducted from one's bank account is done by the bank and thus not wavered from any such responsibility. See attached for ref, kindly explain to me what happened and why I only received electricity units for R1495.65 and not R2000.00? I purchased electricity via Capitec and now Capitec is playing the innocent villain by shoving the client under the bus. What about your consultant who verbally confirmed that Capitec is *****ing money from its clients, this was recorded, or did this recording vanish all of a sudden? The point remains, I purchased electricity directly from / via Capitec and not directly from the municipality so why do I now need to direct my complaint to a third party with whom I had no intervention with? Should this not be the responsibility of Capitec who used my money to make payment for the relevant electricity units and find out what went wrong and to correct the issue reported? If I had purchased electricity directly from Ekurhuleni, then surely, I would go back to the point of purchase and hold them accountable, however, in this instance, I purchased electricity via Capitec and therefore hold Capitec responsible for the bodged transaction and R505.00 being stollen. (Stollen until proven otherwise) I will add this onto the review @ “hellopeter.com” and “****edconsumers.com” and continue in doing so until Capitec takes responsibility for their poor mismanagement and pathetic client service, why do Capitec provide a service via their App but refuses to take ownership of something which involves Capitec directly in that their app may be the result of other people also suffering the same fate but not having had the thoughts of taking this further. Improper and *****ulent business ethics, I will therefore be withdrawing my funds and move to a different bank. Capitec was my bank of choice for a long time, however, this has now changed and in that, I will spread this as far and wide as possible to ensure people know wat to expect from Capitec bank. Electricity units for R2000.00 should be between Tariff A, 768 units and Tariff B, 722 units, not 460.5 units. NWO banking is created by people and individuals who’s names are written on the soles of their shoes, puppets.

Just sad to see the same amount has been taken by Capitec the previous month as well which means this is now R1010.00 taken by Capitec without the capability to explain what for!
Truly sad to see such a well-spoken of bank now allowing money to vanish from transactions and not willing to take ownership of their *********** actions.

Capitec decided to ignore this complaint and as such sends a clear message to its future clients, Capitec does not hold the client's interests at heart but rather its own wealth and does not care about the casualties in this regard.
I'm done with Capitec!
