Exceeding a Pre-set Permanent Limit on my Debit Card

My Online/scan to pay/phone Permanent Limit was set on R500.00 at the time of authorising a transaction for R480.91 on or about 15h30 on 17 Nov 2022 for Checkers Sixty 60. Today the amount of R480.91 has been reversed and replaced with R760.89. Capitec, please explain your authority for firstly reversing the R480.91 without any instruction from myself and secondly please explain your authority for processing an amount of R760.89 in excess of my permanent limit set at R500.00. Please allow me also to save you from embarrassing yourselves with the usual non-sensical response: “It is not Capitec’s fault, you need to take it up with the Merchant”. Rest assured, you can check Hellopeter.com and you will find that I have already taken the matter up with the Merchant. Don’t shift the blame which in my experience has always been Capitec’s standard response without applying your minds. The Merchant had nothing to do with Capitec unilaterally exceeding my pre-set Permanent Limit. Capitec is answerable to me for failing to honour my limits. Please do the right thing, accept responsibility and own up to your mistakes (or is it the mismanagement of my account?). Trusting that a meaningful response will be forthcoming.
