Early Deduction

I have a personal loan with Capitec Bank.

My salary payment date is the 27th, therefore my loan payment date via debit order is the 27th of each month.

In November 2025 they deducted my payment on the 27th, great. In December 2025 they deducted my payment on the 12th, 15 days before my salary payment and agreed deduction date.

I called them and disputed the deduction, which was then returned to me.

On 20 December 2025 I did receive my salary and I called them to make a payment.

On 22 December I checked on my app to see if the payment reflected and noticed that it states "IN ARREARS"

Keep in mind that my agreed payment date is the 27th. This is now the 22nd, so still before my agreed upon payment date, so HOW am I in arrears????

I called them again to enquire about this and was assured that my account is up to date and not in arrears...

Come 22 January 2026, they deduct early AGAIN. I called them to dispute this and was told by the consultant that all systems show that my deduction date is on the 27th and that she does not know why it deducted early.

When she tried to dispute the payment, she was unable to and escalated it to her manager.

At 16:55 on the 22nd she called me back and advised that neither her, the collections department or her manager is able to dispute the payment and that I had to go in to a branch to dispute the payment. CAPITEC is deducting early on a CAPITEC loan from a CAPITEC account and CAPITEC cannot dispute this. HOW is that possible?????

Later that evening I requested a statement to take with me to the branch today, so I have all my ducks in a row and LOW AND BEHOLD, there on 26 December 2025 they charged me interest for arrears!!!!

So THEY deduct early and because I disputed it, but DID pay my premium BEFORE the agreed upon deduction date, which is the 27th, I was put in arrears...

Why, Capitec, are you deducting before the agreed upon deduction date and why are you putting me in arrears, when my payment has been on time since the start of this agreement.

Luckily there was money in my account, otherwise the debit order would have bounced and I would have been charged for that too... Money by the way, that is meant for my electricity top-up, to keep my lights on until the 1st, so if my electricity runs out now, I will be in the dark thanx to Capitec.
