Dishonest Practices - CAPITEC BANK

I recently have taken out a personal loan with Capitec Bank. I had to consolidate the loan in order for me to take a new loan and so asked to pay the outstanding amount (settlement amount) with the new loan.

In my experiences with other banks, when you settle or consolidate a loan the interest on your outstanding amount will/should fall away - however in my case the outstanding amount didn't decrease, in fact it increased. I have sent emails to the clientcare email addresses since last week already and have not received any response.

I WILL NOW TAKE THIS UP WITH THE OMBUDSMAN as i believe that this is ********** practice. When you settle a loan before the term ends, you should not be required to pay the interest that has been calculated on the full term of your loan.
