Disgusting, unprofessional and passing the buck behaviouor.
December 2019 - an credit application was submitted to Capitec for a credit facility (balance transfer) so I can close my existing account with my current bank. The application was not credit vetting by the bank for over 2 weeks and when I e-mailed to query, I was informed that the company was not registered on their database and I was declined. I have suggested to submit my SARS IRP and IT form to them but was declined by the bank. It is all due to because I wish to move away from FNB completely. The person was not very helpful and the consultant name was Jessica. I have numerous e-mail communication in between me to her and no feedback eventually.
July 2020 - I tried to re-submit the request again and however was declined again due to 1) company was not on the system 2) I will need to redo a new application which I refused. I spoke with call centre who transferred me to Melissa at Bayside mall in Cape Town, who then promised to give me a call but after two days, she decided to let Jessica to reply my e-mail. And they now suggest I no longer qualify for the credit card facility because I now earn less than R20,000 VS I was on R40,000 + in December 2019. This was the reason why I explained to both of them that my IRP and IT documents would demonstrate my income vs expenditure. Now they brushed me off and saying I would not qualify so there is no need to assist me further.
So why does Melissa promised to look into the matter and not bother to give me a call back. Instead she instructed Jessica to e-mail me back (which she failed to respond in December 2019 already). And they are mocking me now as my income has been reduced due to Covid19...
I have been with Capitec for over 10 years and the banking system in SA has proven me wrong once again. There is no credible financial institution in SA and there is no customer service left in this country.

Good day Mr. Peng
I arrived back at the branch today and was informed that you were enquiring as to why you do not qualify for credit with us.
After discussing the issue with our credit department and based on the documents we have from when you came in December this was the outcome.
Due to the fact that on the Payslips provided no deductions for tax or UIF were visible, the application was declined. For the same reason a prevention was placed on your ID number which is why when you did a credit estimate online you were declined. However that prevention has now been lifted.
Another reason is due to your current income which you mentioned to my Assistant Manager Melissa. You informed her that your income is currently at R15 000, and one of the criteria for Self-Employed persons is to earn at least R20 000 or more.
I do apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope this is sufficient.
Kind regards,
Jessica

1. Capitec doesn't offer business credit
2. Sole proprietors don't need to register a company name as there is only one person
3. Sole proprietor is an individual so there is no company registration via cipc and it is vetting on the individuals ID number..
4. It is not a company
But hey... According to capitec.. If you work for yourself.. You need to have a registered company otherwise your application is a ***** because there is no informariom3to be found on transunion...
Of course it won't show on transunion as a company.. ???? It is an individual.. And clearly I am the idiot customer who failed to understand that for the last 7 8 years...
Wow.. Just wow...
