Discriminatory Banking

After renewing my passport and permit, I went to Capitec bank to update my details and instead they told me that they will close my account and I must withdraw my all my funds, even my savings so that they open a new account for me. They said I must start the process of opening a new account, It was the worst experience ever. So much costly and cumbersome administration. In the process of withdrawing the funds their ATM's had no money and were out of order, I had to request for cashback services from a retail store, which they forced me to buy something in the shop before getting any cash funds. As if that was not enough, I had to walk around with cash because Capitec could no longer proceed to close my account since I had done a purchase and the transaction had to clear in 24 hours. It actually felt discriminatory. I never expected to see such a terrible system being done by such a bank. Is there very limited IT know-how? or is it just discriminatory? the exercise was so complacent asking me to bring proof of employment " but I have been with the bank for more than 3 years now with no hassles, I even took credit and paid back loyally, what type of discriminatory service can this be. Capitec bank must be clear on which type of clients they need. With this type of treatment I am definitely not one of them. Please note that not everyone is a bad banker as you portray us. There are people who bank with a clean conscience. Other banks serve with no intentions of imbalance in fact their systems accommodate everyone. For a bank that seems to be running on smart innovation, this type of service is surely not impressive. I wouldn't blame the branches for this action they just follow orders.
