Disappointed with Outcome of Capitec Dispute Investigation
I opened a dispute with Capitec after paying R350 to a perfume seller I found on social media. The seller confirmed the order and stated that delivery would be done through PAXI.
After payment was made, the seller unexpectedly requested an additional R150, claiming it was a delivery-related fee. This was never disclosed before payment. When I refused to send more money, the seller did not provide the goods and did not refund me.
I reported the matter to Capitec immediately and opened a dispute. I appreciate that the bank investigated the matter, however I am disappointed that the case was closed unsuccessfully despite the clear change of terms after payment and the suspicious behaviour from the seller.
I believe the matter involved misrepresentation and possible *****ulent conduct, not simply a normal buyer-seller disagreement. I have screenshots, proof of payment, and communication records available.
I am requesting that Capitec reconsider or further review how this matter was handled, especially where online social media ****s are involved.
Case number: ***5
