Delayed credit bureau update and tarnished name.

A short term personal loan was taken by myself in 2013 through Capitec, which is an institution that I still have respect for. It has since been paid off and it was with great dismay that there is a reflection of R2044.00 that is still outstanding in the report.

I went to the branch Bree Street branch and was assisted by Tsakane to have the escalated and I was given a letter stating that there is nothing reflecting on their side and the account is deemed closed. It was mentioned to her that a notification had to be sent to the bank, to remind them of the subsequent update and she told me that credit bureaus update the records every 30 days !! how may 30 cyclical days have passed ? does it mean that up to this point they have been waiting for mystical 30 days ? this has =dented my record more that I can fathom.

So, it means that I have to take the bull by the horns and clear my name. I cannot be carrying a letter all the time when the institutions themselves have the responsibility to act on my behalf, as their words are taken more than the consumer.

There was a helpful lady, Michelle Pridgeon, who assisted me from the Head office the last time a query arose.

It would appreciate if she can get back to me for this to have an imminent closure.
