Debit order date for loan not what I agreed to online and you won't let me change it to the date I said you can do it!!
I Bank with Capitec and took out a small loan the 29th July.
Now I'm getting sms's saying my loan is not paid, I've lost the loan credit insurance and it's in arrears. When I contacted them last night at approx 9pm the lady told me the debit order runs on the 23rd or before as per the payment date my company's bookkeeper gave!!
My salary is not paid every month on the same date, it varies from 23rd to the 27th and I get paid via EFT from Absa. I know when I took out the loan telephonically that I would have told them when asked about pay date etc, that it would be between the 25th to 27th-never the 23rd!! I got paid in July on the 23rd due to the whole Covid situation.
The lady told me that I cannot change the date because it's a contract and that what I said literally means nothing. She said that someone from them phoned my Employer and that's the date the debit order must be paid because that's when my salary goes in. I tried to explain that is not set in stone and that it can vary by a few days, to which she rep**** it can't work like that!! How ******** and blatantly cruel!!!
I told her the contract is between me and the bank, not my company. She blew that off and said there only way I can change it is by taking a salary slip into a branch and that might not even work!! My salary slips are not dated, they just have the month, and there is no grace period according to her!!! She even had the ordacity to tell me to get my employer to make the payment instant!! Who the hell are you to tell me to do that??! It costs money to do that and it's not my place to tell my employer what to do with my salary. The 23rd was Sunday, so she said my salary should have been cleared on Friday!! Who are you to tell me what my employer must do?? I'm no exception and they certainly will not treat me like one!!
How on earth can Capitec be so nasty and stuck on one day without working on a system of "I get paid between X and X" therefore strike the debit order in my case between the 25th and 27th??!!!! This is wrong because it means every month I will be in arrears now and it's not because I don't have the funds, it's your lack of flexibility and not listening to me who has the contract with you!!! I know what dates I would have told you when doing the contract and you change it to the date my employee says I get paid-that's not on because I bet you never asked 'from what date to what date"!! If you did, the bookkeeper would never told you between the 25th and 27th of each month, but you took it on my salary that went in on the 23rdb of that month instead of what I told you should be the date you can do it!!
***? ARE YOU TRYING TO STUFF UP MY CREDIT??!! I Bank with you, my salary goes into Capitec. I can't think of another company that works debit order dates like you!! They all ask when will you be paid and/or when should we strike the debit order and it was no different when I did the loan online with an agent of yours!!! So what are you doing this for, why does what I stipulate as the date to do the debit order in a contract between me and you, get ignored??!!!
I changed to you from Absa because I trusted you. But you seem hell bent on making sure my credit ratings go down. I pay multiple accounts on time always, without fail. All of my debit orders run from the 25th of each month and I pay certain beneficiaries on time, all the time. So what the **** are you trying to do??!!
You're a great big bully, I can see why your trust ratings are so low. You're not the bank you make out to be. I should have checked Hellopeter before I switched banks. You're a bunch of *********, greedy....(every swear word I can think of)!! Sort this out to strike the debit order between the 25th and 27th. It has and always will be these dates, I would never have authorized the 23rd and I can't see how you can legally do this. It's a contract between me and you, not me you and my employer!!
You cannot get away with this. It's completely unacceptable
