Dear Capitec and Centriq, thanks for *****ing R500+ rand.
Dear Capitec,
For years, you have been my favorite bank. I've converted all my family and a lot of friends into Capitec members over the years. I've even posted on social media how great I think you are. Earlier this year, I signed up for a Funeral Policy through yourselves and Centriq Life Insurance Company Limited. And then yesterday I received an email cancelling a whole bunch of clauses of our contract and substituting them with new clauses. I didn't sign up for an early debit order payment system - I'm an adult and know how to manage my account. I've never faulted on a debit order, and there's no ways I'm allowing tracking on my bank account from any outside company.
This is really a silly move on your part, as it makes Capitec seem like a money hungry giant - just like all the other big banks. (whether or not the call comes from Capitec or Centriq - it still reflects badly on Capitec, as they're the face of the whole thing)
There is obviously an option to opt out of this retarded early money grabbing scheme, which is what I will be doing. But there's no option to actually keep a normal debit order in place - which is very lame. But it does mean, in effect, that well done, you've cheated me out of 6 months worth of contributions. I guess moving to FNB will be the way forward.
