Day ruined

Capitec Bank has ruined my morning, and probably the whole day. This morning, as I was going to the office my car was running on reserve, so I got to the filling station to fill up. After filling up, with confidence I whipped out my card to pay the friendly fuel attendent. To my surprise, the card was declined. I checked my app to see if maybe my card was cloned and didn't have funds, I realized that I have enough funds for the fuel. I asked him to process the card again, he did, and the same thing happened again, my card was declined.

I went inside, again, the same thing happened. The filling station's manager suggested that I go to the Capitec ATM which wasn't that far from the filling station. I went there, and I got a message stating that I cannot withdraw.

Now I called Capitec Bank, and the lady I spoke to informed me that they have a technical glitch and the IT department is taking care of it, and it might take an hour to fixed that. Now, as I looked at my watch, I was getting late for my morning meeting.

To cut the long story...I went bank to the filling station and had to negotiate with the manager and the agreement was to leave my spare wheel and jack as I couldn't have left my cellphone, tablet nor my laptop.

The main thing that ****es me off with this is, Capitec Bank did not have the decency to alert their customers about this technical glitch, which in turn, greatly inconvenienced me. As the result of this glitch, I wasted so much time at the filling station, which resulted in cancelling the meeting I was scheduled for. Secondly, I had to leave my spare wheel and jack there, and I would be stranded should I have a flat tyre or hit a pothole.

I stongly believe that you immediately inform your customers should there be any sort of problem(s) that might or could deprive your customers from getting their funds. And in instances like mine, apologies won't necessarily work as I had inconvenience people by cancelling my meeting.
