I just want to warn everybody about taking credit at capitec. if you thought that African bank was worse wait until you go to capitec. In August 2014 I was in a desperate situation ended up making a stupid decision and took a R36900 loan at capitec. I saw the adverts about their low interest rates never thought that was a lie.1st I got suspicious about the transparency when it comes to loan balance, went on their internet banking few times with no luck of seeing a balance. In the 9 months I have paid the instalments I have never received any loan statements from them. I was told to phone their customer service or visit their branch when I needed to see how far I am with the loan payments.for the past 4 months I have phoned to check the balance guess what I was told that it is 35300. Every month I mada a payment of R1278.00 for 9 months but no much change to the balance. I went to a branch today for a settlement letter I was to that theoutstanding balance is R34600 but the settlement amount is R35300 how possible?. The consultant could not answer, I have paid more than 11000 but the difference from the original balance to the settlement balance is still less than 2000. *****..
